Why Join A Figure Skating Club

You may be wondering about the benefits of joining a figure skating club. While a U.S. Figure Skating (USFS) Basic Skills membership allows a skater to participate in “Learn To Skate” activities and Basic Skills competitions, a full membership to USFS allows a skater to participate in all USFS activities. Membership in a USFS-affiliated club, such as FSCSM, includes a full membership to U.S. Figure Skating.

Many figure skating clubs also offer additional activities, like club ice for fun or practice sessions, judging critiques, competitions, and testing sessions. For many competitions, a figure skating club membership is required. To participate in testing sessions, a skater must be a full USFS member.

In addition to critiques, testing, and competitions, FSCSM is planning regular meetings to keep members engaged; fun activities including movie nights and a trip to an outdoor ice rink; community support activities including a food drive and Toys for Tots, and more.

It is an exciting time to be a part of FSCSM and we hope that you will join us! For more information, reach out to any club officer, visit our website at fscsm.org, or email us at fscsouthernmaryland@gmail.com.
